Volleyball Game Preview: Desert Vista Thunder vs. Sunnyslope Vikings

The Desert Vista Thunder will head out to take on the Sunnyslope Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Desert Vista is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

On Monday, Desert Vista didn't have quite enough to beat Corona del Sol and fell 3-2.

Desert Vista wouldn't go down easily and took Corona del Sol into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 20-25, 27-29, 25-21, 17-15.

Meanwhile, Sunnyslope came up short against Brophy College Prep on Friday, falling 3-0. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Broncos recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Sunnyslope was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-22, 25-16.

Sunnyslope suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 9-5. As for Desert Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-18.

Desert Vista came out on top in a nail-biter against Sunnyslope in their previous matchup back in April of 2022, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Thunder repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
