Basketball Recap: Spring Creek Takes a Loss

Spring Creek lost against North Duplin last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Spring Creek Gators took a blow against the North Duplin Rebels, falling 59-21. The contest marked the Gators' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

North Duplin was led to victory by Addy Higginbotham and Tateyawna Faison. Higginbotham posted 15 points in addition to eight assists and three steals, while Faison dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Faison is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Abigeal Norris, who had six points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Spring Creek has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for North Duplin, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spring Creek will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rosewood at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. North Duplin will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Tournament Opponent on December 27th.
