Softball Game Preview: Niles West Wolves vs. Mundelein Mustangs

The Niles West Wolves will head out to face off against the Mundelein Mustangs at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Niles West is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, Niles West didn't have quite enough to beat Antioch and fell 3-1. The game marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Niles West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Hester, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Mundelein's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Zion-Benton by a score of 7-6.

Emily Courtney was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kieley Tomas, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Niles West's record now sits at 6-12. As for Mundelein, their record is now 14-5.
