Basketball Recap: Fayette Ware Takes a Loss

If Fayette Ware was feeling good fresh off their 49-20 takedown of Mitchell on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats took a blow against the Overton Wolverines on Wednesday, falling 60-30. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolverines from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Overton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kierra Baldwin, who shot 70% from the field to rack up 17 points and eight steals. Mariah Harris was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Fayette Ware fell to 3-1. As for Overton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Fayette Ware has already played their next contest (against Haywood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Overton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-52 loss against Whitehaven on the 28th.
