After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Goliad, Calallen was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Martin Tigers by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Calallen took both sets by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-3.

Taylor Paredez paced Calallen's offense, picking up six kills. Paredez got some help from Grace Martinez and her 18 assists. Martinez also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Amelia Hernandez, racking up two apiece.

Calallen has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Martin, they dropped their record down to 3-4 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Calallen wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Ingleside on the 22nd. As for Martin, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Miller on the 22nd.
