Football Recap: Southside Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Southside won against Central last Friday with 35 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Mavericks took down the Little Rock Southwest Gryphons 35-20. That's more bragging rights for the Mavericks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Blake Forsgren threw for 271 yards and four TDs. Peyton Zimmerman was his top target, picking up 125 receiving yards and a pair of scores. On the ground, Terrell Warren rushed for 58 yards on only eight carries.

The victory (which was Southside's fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 21 points thus far. As for Little Rock Southwest, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southside will venture away from home to face off against Mountain Home at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Little Rock Southwest, they will face off against Conway at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Gryphons their first taste of in-conference action this season.
