One of Southern California's most promising sophomore high school basketball prospects is on the move as Max Allen announced via Twitter on Monday that he is transferring to Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.).

Last season at Heritage Christian (Northridge), the 6-foot-8, 260-pound post player averaged 14.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per contest. He tallied 35 points and 20 rebounds in a January win over over Valley Christian and also had 26 points and 11 boards in a December tournament game against Jesuit. See highlights of that performance above.

Allen will be on his third school in three years as he spent his freshman year at Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas).

The Class of 2022 standout will join a strong returning rotation at Sierra Canyon that includes Amari Bailey, Bronny James, Shy Odom and Harold Yu.

Sierra Canyon finished 30-4 in 2019-20 and was ranked No. 15 in the final MaxPreps Top 25 rankings. The Trailblazers were slated to play for their third consecutive state title but play in California was halted prior to championship weekend due to the coronavirus outbreak.
