Recap: Gainesville Christian Community Warriors vs. Hope Christian Academy Lions
This season hasn't been kind to the Gainesville Christian Community Warriors, who are still winless after their fourth match. They were outmatched by Hope Christian Academy on the road and fell 40-5. Gainesville Christian Community was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 23-2.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Abigaile Cress and
Kaitlynn Lanier, who each put up two points.
Hope Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addyson Wilson led the charge by scoring 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Hunt, who scored ten points.
Gainesville Christian Community's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hope Christian Academy, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gainesville Christian Community will challenge Open Bible Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Open Bible Christian will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Hope Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Northside Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
