Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Orange Cove Titans

Roosevelt hasn't had much luck against Orange Cove recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Roosevelt Rough Riders will welcome the Orange Cove Titans at 3:00 p.m. Roosevelt will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

While Roosevelt didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Granite Hills by a score of 5-1 on Tuesday.

Brian Roberson was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Manny Molano was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Orange Cove hadn't done well against Dos Palos recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Orange Cove walked away with a 5-2 victory over Dos Palos.

Orange Cove saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Benjamin Garza, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Garza a new career-high.

Orange Cove now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Roosevelt, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Roosevelt has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Orange Cove struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
