Rye waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their defense stepped up to hand the Dolores Huerta Prep Scorpions a 7-0 shutout. Angelina Atencio was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Something new happened on Monday as Atencio saw her first action of the season, playing 20 minutes against Dolores Huerta Prep. Atencio made the most of the opportunity, scoring three goals and one assist A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Rye pushed their record up to 4-5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those three games. As for Dolores Huerta Prep, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.
