Christian Majors commands the offense for Hawks win

There's no place like home for the Maumee Valley Country Day Hawks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They took down Ottawa Hills 74-56 on Friday. Given Maumee Valley Country Day's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Ottawa Hills is ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Maumee Valley Country Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christian Majors led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. Majors has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amani-Jordan Chandran-Dickerson, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds.

Maumee Valley Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Ottawa Hills, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-6.

Maumee Valley Country Day won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Scott at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th. As for Ottawa Hills, they will head out on the road to challenge Lake at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
