Baseball Game Preview: McCallie Blue Tornado vs. Baylor Red Raiders

For the second straight game, McCallie will face off against Baylor. The Blue Tornado will be playing in front of their home fans against the Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, McCallie didn't have quite enough to beat Baylor and fell 8-7. The Blue Tornado have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

McCallie got a good showing from Nathan Eastman, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Eastman has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Chandler Jones and Mateo Rodriguez did some serious damage despite the final result: Jones scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Jake Copeland was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

The win was the sixth in a row for Baylor, bringing their record up to 17-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for McCallie, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. McCallie has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Baylor struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.2 strikeouts.
