Basketball Game Preview: Beech Grove Hornets vs. Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter Raiders

Beech Grove is 2-8 against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Beech Grove Hornets will welcome the Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Thursday, Beech Grove came up short against Southport and fell 58-46.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Lyla Muffler-Challis, who posted ten points and three steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mylee Boling, who had seven points in addition to ten rebounds and seven steals.

Even though they lost, Beech Grove smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter had to suffer through a 65-25 loss at the hands of Monrovia. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Beech Grove, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10.

Everything went Beech Grove's way against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Beech Grove made off with a 53-31 win.
