After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Carroll, Caston was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the North White Vikings 55-0. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Comets considering their six-point performance the contest before.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Ashton Bowyer and Landen Rigney. Bowyer rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries while Rigney rushed for 69 yards and a pair of TDs. That's the most rushing yards Bowyer has posted since back in September of 2024.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Caston, racking up 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Rigney, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
The win got Caston back to even at 1-1. As for North White, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Caston and North White will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Comets are set to square off against their familiar foe North Miami at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, North White will face off against rival Frontier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
