Softball Recap: West Texas Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact West Texas can now relate to. They fell 14-9 to the Clarendon Broncos on Thursday. The Comanches haven't had much luck with the Broncos recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

BAILEY DRENNAN and Karsyn Shipley did some serious damage despite the final result: DRENNAN went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI, while Shipley got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. MACKENZIE ELLIOTT was another key player, going 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

West Texas' defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Clarendon, their win bumped their record up to 7-10-1.

While West Texas had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
