Football Game Preview: Sunnyside Wildcats vs. Sanger West Hornets + Official Tickets

Sunnyside has gone a perfect 3-0 against Sanger West recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wildcats will challenge the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Sunnyside's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.

On Friday, Sunnyside strolled past Torres with points to spare, taking the game 36-20. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Toros: they've now won four in a row.

Bob Davis had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 154 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnathan Diaz, who threw for 106 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sunnyside was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 245 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sanger West, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They breezed past Fresno to the tune of 52-0 on Friday. That 52 point margin sets a new team best for the Hornets this season.

Sunnyside now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Sanger West, they now also have a winning record of 5-4.

Everything came up roses for Sunnyside against Sanger West in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 60-31 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Hornets' Brendan Hall, who threw for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 46 yards. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for the Wildcats to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
