Softball Recap: Skyview Falcons vs. Russell Rustlers

Skyview had lost four straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 6-11 to make it five. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Russell Rustlers. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rustlers earlier this season, when they won 7-6.

Lexi Johnston made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Rebekah Nickish was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

As for Russell, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-13. Nine seems to be a good number for they as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

On Russell's side, Myli Adams made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off eight hits. Adams has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 11 matchups.

In other batting news, Hayden Olson was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruby Dean, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
