Soccer Game Preview: Clarence vs. Aquinas Institute

The Clarence Red Devils will challenge the Aquinas Institute Little Irish at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Clarence has 11 straight wins, Aquinas Institute has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Clarence is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Sweet Home get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Thursday. Clarence might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by four goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Sweet Home from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. C.J. Cante led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Aquinas Institute's offense. They came up short against Pittsford on Monday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Aquinas Institute can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Pittsford are ranked 34th).

Clarence's win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Aquinas Institute, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-1.

Clarence skirted past Aquinas Institute 2-1 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Do the Red Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Little Irish turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
