Baseball Game Preview: McKinley Tech Trainers vs. Bell Griffins

The McKinley Tech Trainers will head out on the road to challenge the Bell Griffins at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

McKinley Tech made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Dunbar, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Trainers fell just short of the Crimson Tide by a score of 5-3 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Trainers in their meetings with the Crimson Tide: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Bell faced Eastern in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Griffins came up short against the Ramblers, falling 14-5. Griffins fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Ramblers since on Monday.

McKinley Tech's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Bell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Everything went McKinley Tech's way against Bell in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as McKinley Tech made off with a 14-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trainers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
