Recap: Northwest Rankin Cougars vs. Brandon Bulldogs
The Northwest Rankin Cougars were the 66-52 winner over the Brandon Bulldogs when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Northwest Rankin fell just short of Brandon by a score of 48-46.
It was another big night for Nate White, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and four blocks for Brandon. The contest was White's 15th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Barnes, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds.
Northwest Rankin has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Brandon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Rankin will challenge Pearl at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Pearl's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home while Northwest Rankin has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. Brandon is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Oak Grove at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th.
