Basketball Recap: Indian Land Falls Despite Big Games from Ava Pensule and Katilyn Knoll

Indian Land was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Catawba Ridge Copperheads. The Warriors were probably out for revenge after losing 49-41 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Katilyn Knoll and Ava Pensule certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Knoll dropped a triple-double on ten points, 12 boards, and ten steals, while Pensule posted 11 points and six steals. That's the most steals Pensule has posted since back in December of 2023. Emily Callahan was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Indian Land's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Catawba Ridge, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8.

Indian Land will venture away from home to face off against Clover at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clover will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Indian Land surely won't give up without a fight. As for Catawba Ridge, they will host Nation Ford at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
