Football Recap: Ionia Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Ionia managed to slip by St. Johns the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs were dealt a 49-16 loss at the hands of the Redwings on Friday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Redwings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Xavier Benjamin had an outrageously good game for St. Johns as he rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.

Ionia's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for St. Johns, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Ionia and St. Johns will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Bulldogs are set to challenge their familiar foe Eaton Rapids at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, St. Johns will square off against rival Fowlerville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
