Softball Recap: Abingdon/Avon Comes Up Short

Abingdon/Avon fell victim to Biggsville West Central and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Heat, falling 12-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Tornadoes' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Abingdon/Avon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Stegall, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Abingdon/Avon has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Biggsville West Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, Abingdon/Avon and Biggsville West Central will both be playing Galva the next time they take the field. The Tornadoes will head out to face the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Heat will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
