Football Recap: Highland Springs Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Dinwiddie

Highland Springs faced Dinwiddie in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Springers took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals. The Springers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kaevon Wiggins was nothing short of spectacular for Dinwiddie: he picked up 172 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Wiggins showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 56 yards.

Highland Springs' loss dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Dinwiddie, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Highland Springs will head out on the road to square off against South County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dinwiddie, they will take on Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
