Recap: Tri-Cities Bulldogs vs. Midtown Knights
The Tri-Cities Bulldogs struggled with assists on Saturday (the Midtown Knights had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Tri-Cities fell 61-48 to Midtown. It was the first time this season that Tri-Cities let down their fans at home.
Tri-Cities' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Paris Shelton, who scored 20 points along with two steals, and Alyssia Bandele who scored ten points along with nine rebounds.
Midtown was led to victory by Hailey Wortmann and Devin Bockman. Wortmann dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Bockman scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sinclair Richman, who scored ten points.
Tri-Cities' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6. As for Midtown, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.
Tri-Cities will head out on the road to square off against Villa Rica at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Villa Rica is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Midtown, Midtown and Mays will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mays will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Midtown is ranked 34th).
