Fulton is 1-9 against Hannibal since October of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Hornets will square off against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m.
On Thursday, Fulton came up short against Southern Boone and fell 3-1.
While Fulton ultimately came up short, they really made Southern Boone work, particularly in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-23, 21-25, 25-17, 26-24.

Fulton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Bre Knighten, who had 20 digs, 16 kills, four aces, and one block, and Estella Vanschenkhof, who had seven digs and six aces. Knighten has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 20 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Tatum Dailey, who had 23 digs and two assists.
Meanwhile, Hannibal had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Blue Devils. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pirates have posted since October 12, 2024.
Hannibal took Quincy into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15-12.
Hannibal's victory bumped their record up to 15-5-1. As for Fulton, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Fulton might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Hannibal in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
