Football Recap: Booker Tornadoes vs. Riverview Sarasota Rams
After flying high against Carrollwood Day last Friday, Booker came back down to earth. The Booker Tornadoes took a 41-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverview Sarasota Rams on Friday. The Tornadoes gained 312 more yards on the day, but it was the Rams that made the best use of them.
Booker lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tyree Mannings Jr, who picked up 143 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 103 yards. Mannings Jr torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 70 yards. Tyren Wortham also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Yahshua Edwards was a one-man wrecking crew for Riverview Sarasota as he rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, and also picked up 37 receiving yards. Isaiah Belt also helped out as he racked up 109 rushing yards.
Booker's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Riverview Sarasota, their record is now 2-3.
Booker will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sebring at 7:30 p.m. on October 4th. As for Riverview Sarasota, they will square off against Sarasota at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
