The Lennard Longhorns will face off against the Gateway Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Lennard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
Lennard's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Thursday. They put the hurt on Morgan with a sharp 15-0 victory. Considering the Longhorns have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lennard got a massive performance out of Kennedy McClain, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI McClain has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Hannah Rooks, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Lennard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .783. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Gateway's offense. They came up short against Southwest Florida Christian on Monday, falling 17-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Lennard has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Gateway, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
Gateway's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lennard has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Gateway, though, as they've been averaging 10.8 hits. Given Lennard's sizable advantage in that area, the Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
Lennard got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Gateway by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
