Recap: Riverside Christian Academy Royals vs. Pine Forest Trojans
The Riverside Christian Academy Royals put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 43-36 win over Pine Forest. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Riverside Christian Academy has scored all season.
Riverside Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zamaria Mellette, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds. Mellette is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Paris Autry, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Riverside Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Pine Forest, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverside Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against American Leadership Academy-Johnston at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. As for Pine Forest, they will face off against Harnett Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
