Basketball Recap: Midfield Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Midfield couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Saint James Trojans on Tuesday, falling 61-38. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Trojans are ranked eighth).

Despite the defeat, Midfield saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kamiya Webb dropped a double-double with 11 points and 15 boards. Webb has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 53 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lauren Stokes, who posted ten points and five boards.

Midfield's loss dropped their record down to 28-4. As for Saint James, the win was the 20th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 34-2.

As of now, neither Midfield nor Saint James have any future games scheduled.
