Holmes County had won nine straight games and Emma Whitaker did her part to make it ten on Thursday. The Holmes County Blue Devils strolled past the Ponce De Leon Pirates with points to spare, taking the game 56-40 thanks in part to Whitaker, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. The contest was her seventh in a row with at least 17 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jacee Bowers, who posted ten points and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last eight games she's played.

Holmes County's win bumped their record up to 22-2. As for Ponce De Leon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season.

Coming up, Holmes County will square off against Chipley at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Holmes County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Chipley likes a good challenge. Ponce De Leon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
