Football Game Preview: Huntsville Hornets vs. Nederland Bulldogs + How To Watch

The Huntsville Hornets will challenge the Nederland Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Huntsville will be strutting in after a victory while Nederland will be coming in after a defeat.

If Nederland heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Huntsville took over last week. The Hornets came out on top against Lake Creek by a score of 21-14 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

A big part of Huntsville's win came down to the chemistry between Zarien Adolphe and his top target Markcus Lewis. Adolphe rushed for 114 yards and one score while Lewis rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown. Lewis got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 71 yards.

Meanwhile, Nederland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Port Neches-Groves 49-17. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while the Indians are ranked 31st).

Nederland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Huntsville, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Huntsville didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Nederland in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 44-38 win. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
