Basketball Preview: Bordentown Scotties vs. Burlington Township Falcons
Bordentown and the Falcons are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Bordentown Scotties will head out on the road to square off against the Burlington Township Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bordentown will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Even though Bordentown has not done well against the Chiefs recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Bordentown walked away with a 41-34 win over the Chiefs.
Meanwhile, Burlington Township was able to grind out a solid victory over the Rams on Sunday, taking the game 50-42.
Burlington Township's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quayd Hendryx, who scored 19 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hendryx has scored all season. Aaron Ferguson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Bordentown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Burlington Township, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5.
Bordentown couldn't quite finish off the Falcons in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 and fell 57-54. Can Bordentown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
