Soccer Recap: Vance Charter Comes Up Short

Vance Charter and Excelsior Classical Academy combined for 26 shots on goal on Tuesday, which explains the impressive six total goals scored. The Knights fell 4-2 to the Flying Lions. While losing is never fun, Vance Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Excelsior Classical Academy are ranked 94th).

Jacob Lazar wasn't going to let Excelsior Classical Academy walk away unscathed as he scored both of Vance Charter's goals, bringing his season total up to 25 goals.

Vance Charter has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7-1 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four contests. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, their win bumped their record up to 17-0.
