Baseball Recap: Big Spring Comes Up Short

Big Spring easily dispatched Dover on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Boiling Springs Bubblers by a score of 3-1 on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Big Spring has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season. As for Boiling Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Big Spring will head out on the road to take on Halifax at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. Boiling Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
