Soccer Game Preview: Round Lake vs. Waukegan

The Round Lake Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Waukegan Bulldogs at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Round Lake who was credited with the win on Wednesday.

Waukegan took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Grant Community as they made off with a 4-0 victory. That four goal margin sets a new team best for Waukegan this season.

Waukegan was without their leading scorer, Jocelyn Rogel, in Tuesday's matchup. With Rogel sidelined, Genesis Hurtado got her first action of the season.

The win got Waukegan back to even at 3-3-1. As for Round Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1-1.

Round Lake took their win against Waukegan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
