Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South). They blew past the Mayfield Wildcats 16-6 on Wednesday. The Rebels have beaten the Wildcats the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wildcats has come to flipping the script.

The team relied heavily on Addy Matriano, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariya Reed, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

South hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Mayfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

South wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-4 win against Perry on the 12th. As for Mayfield, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-3 victory against Twinsburg on the 12th.
