Baseball Recap: Sulphur Bluff Takes a Loss

After soaring to 13 runs the game before, Sulphur Bluff was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They fell just short of the Saltillo Lions by a score of 4-2. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 13-10.

Sulphur Bluff saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyson Collins, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Collins is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another was Kip Collins, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Sulphur Bluff moved to 8-5-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Saltillo, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Sulphur Bluff will face off against Cooper at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Saltillo, they will take on Bland at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
