Volleyball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Cedar Valley

On Tuesday, Mountain View faced Cedar Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Mountain View Bruins fell just short of the Cedar Valley Aviators by a score of 3-2. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Aviators apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Mountain View sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 24-26, 25-19, 22-25, 16-14.

Kahana Franco was the offensive standout of the game as he had 12 digs and four assists. That's the most assists he has posted since back in March of 2024. Jordan Easton also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assists of the season.

The defeat snapped Mountain View's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-4 record. As for Cedar Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-4.

Mountain View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Herriman on the 13th. As for Cedar Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Maple Mountain on the 13th.
