Baseball Game Preview: Irvin Rockets vs. Riverside Rangers

Irvin hasn't had much luck against Riverside recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rockets will square off against the Rangers at 6:30 p.m. Irvin has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Irvin is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Wednesday. They lost 15-1 to Ysleta.

Irvin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amani Ruiz, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Riverside got the win against Austin on Wednesday by a conclusive 18-5. The victory continues a trend for the Rangers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won nine in a row.

Riverside pushed their record up to 11-7-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Irvin, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16-1.
