Volleyball Game Preview: Milledgeville Missiles vs. Morrison Mustangs

Milledgeville is a perfect 9-0 against Morrison since August of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Missiles will head out on the road to take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Milledgeville didn't have quite enough to beat Eastland and fell 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Missiles in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost five in a row.

Milledgeville started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-11, 25-22.

Milledgeville's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Natalie Pilgrim, who had 11 digs and two assists, and Brinley Hackbarth, who had nine assists and three digs. Ava Dodson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Meanwhile, Morrison didn't have quite enough to beat Newman Central Catholic on Monday and fell 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Morrison sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-17.

Morrison's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12-2. As for Milledgeville, their loss dropped their record down to 17-5.

Milledgeville beat Morrison 2-0 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Missiles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
