Basketball Recap: Gabe Peters' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Columbia over West Harrison

Columbia lost against West Harrison back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats took a hard 55-41 fall against the Hurricanes.

Columbia's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabe Peters, who posted 12 points and three steals. Peters is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Braylon Johnson, who had seven points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Harrison to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Robinson, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of De'Andre Weston, who scored nine points and five boards.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for West Harrison, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Looking ahead, Columbia will face off against Harrison Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats' defense better be ready for this one: the Red Rebels have averaged an impressive 53.2 points per game this season. As for West Harrison, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-41 victory against Presbyterian Christian on the 22nd.
