Recap: West Orange Warriors vs. Riverview Sarasota Rams
On Saturday, West Orange came up short against Riverview Sarasota and fell 44-36. While losing is never fun, West Orange can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Riverview Sarasota is ranked 28th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverview Sarasota to victory, but perhaps none more so than Susan Lowther, who scored 16 points along with four steals. Ava Sims was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
West Orange bumped their record down to 7-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Riverview Sarasota, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Orange and Central Florida Christian Academy will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Riverview Sarasota will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Parrish Community at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th.
