The Southern Nash Firebirds can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past Nash Central 63-43. That looming 63-43 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Southern Nash yet this season.
Jayden Whitaker was on fire: he scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Tylik Mitchell, who scored 11 points.
Southern Nash's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9. As for Nash Central, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
Southern Nash will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Roanoke Rapids at 7:30 p.m. Roanoke Rapids knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Southern Nash likes a good challenge. As for Nash Central, they will head out on the road to take on Franklinton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Franklinton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
