Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Mid-Buchanan

Mid-Buchanan entered their tilt with Mound City on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Dragons also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Mid-Buchanan had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-16, 28-26, 25-16.

Myla Flinn paced Mid-Buchanan's offense, picking up 14 kills. Flinn got some help from Myia Dillman and her 42 assists. Camryn Atha controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Mid-Buchanan's win bumped their record up to 7-5-1. As for Mound City, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mid-Buchanan will square off against Lathrop at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dragons are facing the Mules at the right time seeing as the Mules are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Mound City, they will take on North Nodaway at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
