Volleyball Recap: Monterey Trail Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

It's playoff time, and Monterey Trail had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Pitman Pride on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

While Monterey Trail might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Pitman scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-23, 23-25, 25-18.

Dehryn Brown paced Monterey Trail's offense, picking up 28 kills. Brown got some help from Chris Huang and his 55 assists. Brown was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Monterey Trail's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. As for Pitman, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-9.

Coming up, Monterey Trail is taking a road trip to face off against Laguna Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. Pitman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
