Basketball Recap: Prospect Skates Past Wheeling with Ease

Prospect's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They really took it to the Wheeling Wildcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-8 victory. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 24 points or more this season.

Leading Prospect to victory were Angelina Calvacca and Allison Linke. Calvacca posted eight points along with five boards and three blocks, while Linke earned seven points and three steals. Those five rebounds gave Calvacca a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Carroll, who put up nine points.

Prospect pushed their record up to 21-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Wheeling, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 17 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-25 record this season.

Prospect will be playing in front of their home fans against Rolling Meadows at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wheeling, they will welcome Aurora East at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wheeling is facing Aurora East at the right time seeing as Aurora East is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
