Softball Game Preview: Goleman Gators vs. Flanagan Falcons

The Goleman Gators will face off against the Flanagan Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Goleman is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Goleman came up short against Hialeah-Miami Lakes on Wednesday, falling 16-6.

Olivia Mata was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while going 1-for-2. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Britney Cintas, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Flanagan lost 23-4 to Nova on Wednesday.

Flanagan saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jasmine Gonzalez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Goleman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Flanagan, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Goleman has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. However, it's not like Flanagan struggles in that department as they've averaged .442. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Goleman couldn't quite finish off Flanagan when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 13-11. Can Goleman avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
