Football Game Preview: Southern Regional Rams vs. Kingsway Dragons

The Southern Regional Rams will host the Kingsway Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Southern Regional 6.4, Kingsway 13.3) so any points scored will be well earned.

Southern Regional is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Williamstown 36-3. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Rams' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Braves are ranked 87th).

Meanwhile, Kingsway's game on Thursday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Eastern by a score of 23-14. The victory continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won eight in a row.

The critical scores for Kingsway came from Christian White, David Oravetz, and Cole DeNick.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Kingsway's defense and their three sacks. Jordan Hernandez refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself.

Southern Regional's record now sits at 9-1. As for Kingsway, their record is now 8-2.

Southern Regional was taken down by Kingsway 35-6 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Rams were down 28-0.
