Baseball Game Preview: Sunnyslope Vikings vs. Millennium Tigers

The Sunnyslope Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Millennium Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sunnyslope is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Sunnyslope came up short against Corona del Sol on Monday, falling 12-3.

Sunnyslope got a good showing from Jacob Reyes, who tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest earned runs Reyes has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Sunnyslope saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaiko Wryrybkowski, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Millennium's offense. They fell just short of Desert Vista by a score of 1-0 on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

David Sheppard was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Sunnyslope's record is now 6-15. As for Millennium, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-8.

Sunnyslope couldn't quite get it done against Millennium in their previous meeting back in March of 2020 as they fell 7-2. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
